Does it require WooCommerce?
Section titled “Does it require WooCommerce?”Yes. WooCommerce 8.0 or later must be installed and active.
How is the gift-card amount set?
Section titled “How is the gift-card amount set?”It is the price of the gift-card product. The recipient receives a code for that value; buying multiple quantities issues multiple codes, one per unit.
How does redemption work?
Section titled “How does redemption work?”The customer enters their code in the redeem field at checkout. The remaining balance is applied as a discount on the order total, and any unused balance is kept for a future order.
Does partial redemption work?
Section titled “Does partial redemption work?”Yes. If a card’s balance is larger than the order, only the needed amount is used and the remainder carries over to the next purchase.
Who receives the code?
Section titled “Who receives the code?”By default the order’s billing email, so a card is always deliverable. An optional per-line recipient email can override this so the card goes straight to the person being gifted.
Can the buyer see the code too?
Section titled “Can the buyer see the code too?”Yes, when Show issued codes to the buyer is on (the default). The issued codes appear on the order-confirmation page and in the buyer’s order emails.
Can I customise the email and the checkout label?
Section titled “Can I customise the email and the checkout label?”Yes. The recipient email subject and body, and the checkout discount label, are all set under WooCommerce → Gift Cards. The checkout label supports the {code} token, and the email editor offers click-to-insert tokens and a live preview.
Is it compatible with HPOS and the checkout blocks?
Section titled “Is it compatible with HPOS and the checkout blocks?”Yes. Gift Cards supports WooCommerce HPOS (Custom Order Tables) and the Cart/Checkout Blocks.
Should I use this alongside Polski PRO gift cards?
Section titled “Should I use this alongside Polski PRO gift cards?”No — pick one system. Polski PRO also offers gift cards; running both would issue and redeem codes twice. If you use Polski PRO gift cards, skip this plugin. Otherwise it is safe with Polski FREE.
What does the Pro edition add?
Section titled “What does the Pro edition add?”Gift Cards Pro adds buyer-chosen custom amounts, scheduled delivery, the [giftcards_balance] balance-check shortcode, admin redemption history, custom card email designs and bulk CSV generation; PDF attachments are planned. See Gift Cards Pro.
