Tabby Pro
Tabby Pro is the planned premium edition for Tabby. It is an add-on that requires the free Tabby plugin installed and active; it is distributed through Freemius (licensing, activation and automatic updates), not the WordPress.org directory.
The 0.1.0 release is an early scaffold: it ships the licensing, bootstrap, activation and database-migration plumbing that the premium features will hook into. The features below are planned and not yet implemented.
Planned PRO features
Section titled “Planned PRO features”- Tab ordering - drag to reorder global and per-product tabs, instead of a fixed before/after placement.
- Tab icons - add an icon to each tab label for faster scanning on the product page.
- Conditional display - show or hide tabs by product, category, stock status or user role.
- Rich content - allow shortcodes and blocks inside tab content, beyond the safe HTML of the free edition.
What the scaffold does today
Section titled “What the scaffold does today”- Boots only after the free Tabby plugin has loaded and fired its boot action.
- Verifies the free plugin is present and meets the minimum version, with admin notices when it is not.
- Registers premium services and hooks into the free plugin’s container (registries are empty placeholders for now).
- Runs version-tracked PRO activation defaults and database migrations.
- Declares WooCommerce HPOS and Cart/Checkout Blocks compatibility.
- Integrates the Freemius SDK for licensing, activation UI and automatic updates.
Relationship with Tabby
Section titled “Relationship with Tabby”Tabby Pro extends the free Tabby plugin. The free plugin provides the core global and per-product tabs with safe HTML; PRO adds ordering, icons, conditional display and rich content that larger catalogs ask for.
