Getting started
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- WordPress 6.5 or newer.
- WooCommerce active.
- PHP 8.1 or newer.
- Upload the plugin to
/wp-content/plugins/versus, or install it via Plugins → Add New. - Activate it. WooCommerce must be active.
- Open the Versus menu and enable the compare button on shop listings and the product page.
Enabling placements
Section titled “Enabling placements”Each placement is toggled independently in the settings: shop and archive listings, the single product page, and the Compare tab in My Account. You can also choose which standard fields appear (price, SKU, availability, short description), whether product attributes are included as rows, and whether differences are highlighted.
Guest and customer lists
Section titled “Guest and customer lists”Guests get a comparison list stored per browser; logged-in customers get a Compare tab in My Account. When a guest logs in, their list is merged into the account. The per-list cap is configurable between 2 and 6 products - when the cap is exceeded, the oldest item is removed.
Free and PRO boundary
Section titled “Free and PRO boundary”The free edition covers side-by-side comparison via My Account (or your theme integration). Versus Pro adds:
[versus_compare]— a dedicated comparison page with an expanded attribute table (price, SKU, stock, weight, dimensions, attributes).- Sticky compare bar — a bar on shop and category pages that tracks selected products and links to the comparison page.
Configurable rows, category-scoped comparisons and export remain planned PRO features.
