Does Tiers require WooCommerce?
Section titled “Does Tiers require WooCommerce?”Yes. Tiers is a WooCommerce extension and requires WooCommerce 8.0 or later. It declares compatibility with HPOS and the Cart/Checkout Blocks.
Is there an enable/disable switch?
Section titled “Is there an enable/disable switch?”No master switch. Tiers applies the discount whenever at least one valid tier is saved. To stop discounting, remove your tiers. To keep the discount but hide the on-page table, turn Show pricing table off.
Does the pricing table reload the page?
Section titled “Does the pricing table reload the page?”No. The table is server-rendered HTML, it loads with the page, before any JavaScript runs. There is no AJAX, no hydration, and no jQuery. The discount itself is also pure PHP, computed on woocommerce_before_calculate_totals.
How does “highest tier wins” work?
Section titled “How does “highest tier wins” work?”The deepest matching band applies; bands never stack. Quantities are evaluated lowest to highest and the last match wins. With a 5+ (5%) and 10+ (10%) ladder, 12 units in the cart get 10% off, not 15%.
Where does the pricing table appear?
Section titled “Where does the pricing table appear?”Wherever you choose under Table placement: the product summary (default), before or after the add-to-cart form, the product meta area, or “only where I place it”. For manual placement use the [tiers_table] shortcode or the Volume pricing table block.
Can I show the table on a specific product, anywhere?
Section titled “Can I show the table on a specific product, anywhere?”Yes. Pass a product id to the shortcode: [tiers_table product_id="123"], or set the Product ID field on the block. With no id it uses the current product.
Can I apply different tiers to different products?
Section titled “Can I apply different tiers to different products?”Not in the free edition, tiers are global there. Per-product and role-based tiers come from the tiers_product_tiers filter, which Tiers PRO builds on. Developers can implement their own logic on that same filter.
Are discounts compatible with coupons?
Section titled “Are discounts compatible with coupons?”Yes. Tiers rewrites the cart line-item price before WooCommerce calculates totals, so standard coupons apply normally on top of the tiered price.
Does it work with taxes?
Section titled “Does it work with taxes?”Yes. Tiers modifies the price before WooCommerce’s tax calculation, so WooCommerce’s own tax logic runs on the discounted price.
What if the product is already on sale?
Section titled “What if the product is already on sale?”Tiers never raises a price. If the active price is already lower than the tier would make it, a sale price, for example, the lower price is kept. The discount is calculated against the regular price, with a fallback to the active price when no regular price is set.
Can I show how much the shopper saves?
Section titled “Can I show how much the shopper saves?”Yes. Turn on the Savings column to add a You save column to the table, and/or the Cart savings note to print You save {amount} under each discounted cart line.
Is the table accessible?
Section titled “Is the table accessible?”Yes. It uses <th scope> headers and a <caption> (the table heading, or Volume pricing tiers when blank), so screen readers announce the quantities and prices correctly. The plugin targets WCAG 2.2 AA.
What happens when I deactivate or delete the plugin?
Section titled “What happens when I deactivate or delete the plugin?”On deactivate, discounts stop and the table disappears, but your settings stay in the database. On delete, uninstall.php removes the single tiers_settings option. Tiers creates no custom tables, so deleting it leaves your database as it was.
