Minimum

Minimum sets quantity and spend limits on your WooCommerce store: how few units of a product a customer must buy, how many they may buy, that they must buy in fixed pack sizes, and a minimum cart subtotal before checkout is allowed. Rules are scoped to a single product, a whole category, or every product at once, and live on one screen at WooCommerce → Minimum.

The plugin checks the cart when an item is added and again at checkout. When a rule is not met, the shopper sees a notice naming the product and the exact number to fix, and checkout stays blocked until it passes.

  • Minimum quantity, require at least N units of a product before checkout.
  • Maximum quantity, cap how many units a customer can buy.
  • Step quantity, allow only multiples, for products sold in packs (for example, packs of 6).
  • Minimum order total, require a cart subtotal before checkout, independent of the quantity rules.
  • Per-product, per-category and global rules, a product rule beats a category rule, which beats the global rule, resolved per constraint.
  • Editable notices, write the message shown for each unmet rule, with {min}, {max}, {step}, {product} and {total} tokens swapped in for live values.
  • Enforcement switch, turn all rules off without deleting them.

Minimum has no storefront UI of its own, no product-page widget, no shortcode. It enforces rules at three WooCommerce validation points: when a product is added to the cart, when the cart is displayed, and at checkout. Because every check reads the live cart contents rather than a specific template, the same notices block checkout whether you use the classic cart and checkout pages or the Cart and Checkout blocks. Minimum is also declared compatible with HPOS (custom order tables).

There are no custom database tables. All settings live in two wp_options rows, and deleting the plugin removes them and leaves the rest of your database untouched.

Minimum Pro (Freemius) adds per-product min/max/step overrides today, layered on top of the free rules through the minimum/product_constraints filter. Per-role rules, scheduled rules, CSV import and conditional logic are on the roadmap. The free edition is the full GPL product, not a trial.
