Frequently asked questions

Does it require WooCommerce?

Yes, Enquire requires an active WooCommerce installation. The Ask a question button appears on the single product page, right after the add-to-cart form. The plugin reads WooCommerce product data to include the product name and link in each enquiry.

Where are enquiries stored?

In the free version, enquiries are not stored anywhere. Each submission is emailed via wp_mail and never written to your database. If you need an enquiry log in wp-admin, the Enquire Pro add-on provides one.

Where do enquiries get sent?

Enquiries go to the recipient address you set under WooCommerce → Enquire. If you leave that field empty, the site's admin email is used instead. The shopper's email is set as Reply-To, so you can answer directly from your inbox.

How is spam handled?

Enquire uses three safeguards and no CAPTCHA. Each submission is verified with a nonce and screened with a hidden honeypot field that only bots fill in. On top of that, a single visitor can send at most one enquiry every 30 seconds.

Can I reply straight from my inbox?

Yes. The shopper's email address is set as the Reply-To header on the message you receive. That lets you answer directly from your mail client without logging into wp-admin. The email also includes the product name and link, so you know exactly what the question is about.

Will the form slow my store down?

It shouldn't. Enquire's small CSS and JS files load only on product pages, not across the whole site. The form is built on the browser's native dialog element, so it adds no heavy libraries.
