WooCommerce Accessibility Check

A practical first-pass check of the purchase path against common WCAG and EAA implementation risks.

1. Can every shop and checkout action be completed using only a keyboard?

Include menus, filters, variation choices, cart controls, validation and payment selection.

2. Is keyboard focus always visible and does it follow a logical order?

Focus must not disappear behind sticky elements, modals or cookie banners.

3. Do form fields and icon-only buttons have clear accessible names?

Placeholders alone are not labels. Test search, quantity, coupon, login and checkout fields.

4. Are validation errors announced and connected to the exact field?

Colour alone is not enough, and focus should move to an actionable error summary or field.

5. Have text, controls and focus indicators been checked for contrast?

Check normal, hover, disabled, sale-price and error states, not only the homepage.

6. Has the full purchase path been tested with a screen reader?

Automated tools cannot confirm whether the flow is understandable or operable.
