  • An AI assistant working in your wp-admin can now read gift registries for you, through the WordPress Abilities API (WordPress 6.9 and later). Ask what is still unbought on a registry and the answer comes from the real list: what was wanted, how many guests have already bought, and how many are still needed.
  • Reading only. Nothing an assistant can call adds an item, changes a wanted quantity or removes anything, and registries are identified by customer id rather than by name or email. Only shop managers can use these, and on WordPress 6.8 and earlier nothing changes.

  • Gifts with options, such as a variable product with a size or colour, now show "Choose options" and open the product page, instead of a "Buy this gift" button that added nothing to the cart.
