Getting started

Requirements

• WordPress 6.4 or newer.
• WooCommerce 8.0 or newer.
• PHP 8.1 or newer.

Install and activate

1. Install and activate WooCommerce.
2. Install Sieve and activate it.
3. Open the Sieve menu in the admin and click Rebuild index.

The index stores a compact, query-ready copy of each product’s filterable values. It powers fast filtering and keeps itself up to date as you add or edit products. You only need to rebuild it manually after the first install or after a bulk import.

Choose your facets

On the Sieve admin screen you can:

• Set the number of products per page and the column count.
• Add, reorder, rename and remove facets.
• Pick a presentation type for each facet (checkboxes, radio, dropdown, range slider or search).

A fresh install ships a sensible preset: Category, Price, Availability and On sale.

Place the filter

Add the filter to any page with either:

• The [sieve] shortcode, or
• The Sieve Filter block.

Both render a complete, self-contained widget: the facets, the results grid, sorting, active-filter chips and pagination. No theme configuration is required.
